Frequently Asked Questions….
Why do I need my oven cleaned?
Grease and burnt on carbon will build up in your oven, no matter how hard you try to avoid it. Once this has happened, not only will it spoil the look of your appliance, but the build-up behind the elements could eventually cause a fire.
Why shouldn’t I just clean it myself?
Have you ever tried to clean your oven with those pungent and messy aerosols? It’s difficult not to choke and requires a lot of elbow grease. Cleaning the oven is a dirty job. The fact that your oven needs cleaning is usually a good indicator that it’s not one of your favourite jobs! Thankfully professional help is at hand…let OVENKNIGHT put the sparkle back in your oven while you put your feet up.
What products do you use?
All our cleaning products are safe, non toxic, biodegradeable and eco-friendly specialist cleaning products.
How do you clean my oven?
When we arrive to clean your oven, we switch on the appliance before carrying out any work, to make sure everything is working fine. We remove burnt on carbon and grease from your oven using non caustic products. Chrome shelves and other removable parts are placed in a biodegradable van based process tank. Glass doors are cleaned inside and out, oven door seal and control dials removed where possible to clean, then all removed parts are fitted back to the appliance.
How long should I wait before using the oven again after cleaning?
Your oven will be ready to use as soon as we leave! That’s the beauty of using non-toxic cleaning products.
What if I need my oven cleaned at short notice?
We will always try to fit you in as quickly as possible, that’s why we’re so popular with Estate Agents and Letting Agents who don’t have much time between tenants moving in and out. The kitchen plays an influentual part in the purchase or sale of a house, so a sparkling oven could help to clinch the deal. OVENKNIGHT will also bring landlords peace of mind that their hygiene standards are being met.
Do you clean AGAs?
Yes, we remove all burnt on carbon and grease from the domes (lids), the main top, chimney flue sleeve, doors inside and out and the aluminium strip on the inside of the ovens. Two door Agas take approximately two hours to clean, and three door Agas take around three hours. Customers are asked to switch off the Aga 24 hours before we clean it.
